Maipo
Founded in 1874, Viña Tarapacá is one of Chile’s most important wineries and is dedicated to making premium wines. It is located in the most traditional region, the Maipo Valley town of Isla de Maipo, 40 minutes from Santiago. The Maipo River runs beside its vineyards, which are surrounded by the Andes and Coastal Mountain Ranges.
The geography produces perfect conditions for winegrowing. The soils are irrigated by Andean meltwater, and the climate, with its four well-defined seasons, rainy winters and dry summers, broad daily temperature variations during the growing season, contribute to the production of excellent fruit for making very fine wines. Viña Tarapacá is part of the VSPT Wine Group, Chile’s second largest wine exporter.
